Fishing Lines, your connection to the catch! |

How many times do you change your line? Is it after every few trips or a few times a season or maybe once in a few years? I know everybody reading this will change their line after a couple trips and never let it go taking a chance to drop the fish of a lifetime, right? |
Nice thought even if it is a dream. I do know a few people that change once a year and even a few more that change every 5 to 10 years and then only when it gets low enough on the reel that they have to do something! I just never understood that, I know how my luck runs that if I let my lines go that long I would have the biggest bass or catfish on ever in my life and I would be able to get it in just to see how big it is and then “Snap” my line would break. |

I have been blessed throughout the years with line. I had a friend of my parents that worked for DuPont in the 70’s & early 80’s when they made Stren and every spring I got a big box of line. So I changed line and everyone that fished with me also had new line for free. When I started watching the fishing show, “The In-Fisherman” I started buying Trilene because that is what Al used! (Funny how seeing a TV host use something is all we need to go right out and get it!) Trilene was my line of choice for years, about 13 to be more specific. |
Regardless of the brand I changed it on all my reels every month. I saw first hand what old line can do to what would have been a great day on the water and I swore I would never let that happen to me for as long as I possible could. Now I know I have wrote about lines before but since then I have a few more outings to help show just what line can do. I am of coarse talking about the line that is now a sponsor of Reel Fishing with Gunner and added me to their Pro Staff, Sufix..! I have to say without a shadow of a doubt that Sufix IS in my eyes the best line you can buy, period. |
I also wrote before about Cleveland Pete snagging and bringing in a 60 foot barge rope that weighed over 120 pounds on 20 pound Sufix Elite line! Since then I have been on outings that again Sufix has proven itself over and over. |

John B has been a Trilene man for years, until I got him Sufix and now that is all he uses and he spreads the word to everyone he talks to and fishes with. Radio host of Classic Country outdoors with Calvin Pyle is another fisherman I also turned onto Sufix. Calvin is a die-hard Muskie fisherman for 40+ years. He said his problem now is he has to make time to throw the miles of Trilene in his basement away since he has Sufix on all his reels. In fact I have been a guest on his show I think a total of 10 or more times where we gave line away and also had people stop in to the studio after the show so we could spool Sufix on one of their reels. He also has his muskie fisherman friends using Sufix plus promoting it on his weekly radio show! |

I am writing about this because I have seen it on my own reels get snags and I have NEVER lost a rig or a lure since using Sufix. I have had reports from people that we spooled their reels telling us of how they are not losing baits and in fact getting snagged and pulling their 20 foot Ranger boat across the water to the spot un-snag it with only 8 pound test! |

We do a very different and special promotion for Sufix line here at www.reelfishingwithgunner.com Cleveland Pete and I will at different times either in the boat or on the banks of the rivers and lakes walk up to and start talking to other fisherman about the line they are using. We then introduce and explain to them about Sufix and offer to spool one of their reels up right then and there for free. I am proud to say that nobody has told us “No” they do not want new line and in fact they have called, e-mailed or found us on the water to thank us and tell us their experience with Sufix and how they now have put it on ALL of their reels! |
I am writing this because I truly believe you will boat more fish and lose less equipment just by changing to Sufix line. I would like to offer a challenge to everyone reading this to try Sufix line on only one of your reels and see for yourself the difference in smoothness, castability, increased distance and overall performance of this line. |

After you try it out write me at: gunner@reelfishingwithgunner.com and let me know how it worked for you, good or bad. I will personally make sure your info gets to the right people at Sufix. Also if you see Cleveland Pete or myself on the water or at the ramp please feel free to come up and ask us about spooling a reel up for you! |

On a recent trip to Piedmont Lake, in the front of the boat John B was fishing for and had a 12 ˝ Saugeye on his line with a jig and minnow on 8 pound Sufix Superior line and I had a muskie at the back of the boat following my figure 8. Just as the muskie looked like he was going to take my bait, he just took off under the boat. Then John’s pole took a BIG bend and line started stripping off his reel. |
After a few minutes we had a 36 inch muskie that had a 12 ˝ inch Saugeye in its mouth and the Saugeye had the minnow in his mouth, all on ONLY 8 pound Sufix line!!! It was interesting to see the food chain all in one shot right then and there. |

I know this is an article that varies from the normal for Country Anglin’ but it is only because I truly think this is such a great product and I know I am proud to be a member of their Pro Staff. Over the years I used all the name brand lines, Stren, Trilene and Sufix beats them all! Now I bought and used Sufix on my own for over a year before I was ever affiliated with Sufix. It is because of the performance that got Reel Fishing with Gunner together with Sufix! |

I would also like to at this talk about a new change in my life. I moved from eastern Ohio to Springfield in 1994. Well as God has seen fit, I am now moved back to eastern Ohio. With that being said my 13 + years in the Springfield area have been a blessing. I met Tony, Mark and Brian of Country Anglin’ Outdoor Guide there and my professional fishing career got its big push/start in the Springfield area. I have fished great waters in that area and just made a bunch of friends. |

The only difference from me now will be more reports on the Ohio River and the lakes in the eastern area of Ohio. Please feel free to write me and we can talk about anything outdoors or maybe you might be planning a trip this way and I can get some info to you and maybe even plan a day on the water where we can fish together. |

I hope to see you out there and God Bless everyone! |
