SUREFIRE G2Z–BK Combat Light

This month I
have the pleasure of reviewing the SureFire G2Z Combat Light! And I do write this with great enthusiasm,
as this is a fabulous little light…
First, let me
start with some of the features on this beauty…
- Push-button switch on the end
of the unit
- Lock-out tail cap (to prevent
turning it on by accident)
- Super BRIGHT Xenon Lamp
- SF123A Batteries
- Lanyard
- Nitrolon polymer composite (Almost
indestructible!)
- Pyrex lens (Improved scratch
resistance…a very good feature)
- Weight is a light 4.3 ounces
- Length is only 4.9 inches
I had the
privilege of testing this light for us here at Reel Fishing with gunner, and
I have to say I was impressed with it from the moment I took it out of
the box. Its ability to impress me
only grew the more I used it.
I have taken this
light with me on hiking trips, fishing trips and even to a shooting class. This product performed at or above the
claims made by SureFire.
I can not
report one problem the entire time I was testing it! As a matter of fact, once I get the belt
case for it, I will carry it with me on every outing I go on! Plus, I will tell everyone who goes with me
about it…
It is plain to
see why this light is favored by the FBI and other law enforcement officers. One push of the cap switch, and this can make
the target hesitate and try to shield their eyes, therefore giving the
officer time to act!
Another thing
that impressed me is the fact that you do NOT have to turn the lens to focus
the beam! It is always right, no
matter what distance you are aiming at. That is a feature that should sway a few buyers…think about it,
you NEVER have to worry about being in focus…this light is dead on, right out
of the box or holster! That is part
of the reason the FBI, Air Marshals, U.S Navy SEALS, and SWAT teams use
SureFire…because when they need a light, they need it right then and they
don't have time to worry if it will work or not.
I would
recommend one of these to anyone who works in fields such as Security Guards,
Prison Guards, Game Wardens, Fire and Rescue, Coast Guard…anyone who might
need a light in a hurry for any type of emergency. Campers, hikers, fishermen, you name it.
Now, if you are
used to buying other all-purpose flashlights, and that is all you need, this
may not be for you. This is not a light
you would want to use if, for example, you were changing a flat tire and
needed to leave it on for 30 minutes straight…although, if this was the only
light you had, it would work.

Price is a
suggested retail of $84.00. (I know
that is more then the bargain store flashlight, but that is an entirely
different light—the bargain brand would not last or do what this one may be
needed for.)
Final
thought: If you even THINK you may
have a need for this light, then get one ASAP…because, if and when you need
it, you WILL be glad you have it. Visit the SureFire site and order one, and while you are there
check out the accessories they have for these. Be sure and tell them that gunner sent you!
